Job Details:
This position is responsible for duties and functions associated with manual scanning, quality review, and analysis of documents into the ChartMaxx software.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Retrieves patient charts from the nursing units or the department providing care.
2. Maintains a logging system to assure arrival of the charts into the department and the scanning into ChartMaxx of each of the registered encounters.
3. Prepares the documents/encounters for scanning by following departmental guidelines for preparing documents.
4. Scans the documents/encounters into the ChartMaxx database following departmental guidelines.
5. Performs quality review functions on all scanned documents/encounters following departmental quality review guidelines.
6. Maintains the flow of data by uploading the documents from the scanning database into the ChartMaxx system for use by the appropriate health care personnel.
7. Analyze the medical chart for documentation deficiencies for the inpatient , outpatient surgery, observation, and outpatient diagnostic encounters according to JCAHO, Medical Staff and hospital/departmental documentation requirements.
8. Assists the physicians with chart completion as needed.
9. Assists physician offices, nursing units, and ancillary departments by providing (or assisting them to access) patient information available within the medical chart.
10. Demonstrates dependability and teamwork by following hospital and departmental procedures; controls interpersonal differences; promotes and adheres to KRMC Behavioral Standards; Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Ability to operate office equipment such as PC, scanner, copier, printer and fax machine. Effective interpersonal and customer relation skills.
