Computer Operator Information Services

Responsibilities:
Monitoring multi server system responsible for running a schedule of 3000+ programs daily. A Production and 2 test systems are monitored in IT/Operations. Responsibilities include: All systems as assigned. Account for all programs processed by system. Identification, escalation and in some cases resolution of program runtime problems. Rotating all backup tapes and accounting for them daily. Maintaining knowledge level of production system location as well as Disaster Recovery site location. Must be able to travel to both facilities during given work shift, when required. Both facilities are local to the Dallas area SWS IT/Operations has a 24×7 operation 7 days a week. Must be available to work all holidays. Overtime is a requirement of this position and is often required on an unscheduled as needed basis. Understand and describe the use of Job Scheduler for CSS and Computron.

Qualifications:
For a junior position: Associates degree with Computer Science major or 1 year extensive Operations experience in running in a Windows 2003 multi server environment. Must be able to demonstrate good working knowledge of the Microsoft product line with emphasis on Windows 2003, Excel, Word, Exchange, winzip.

For Operator level: 2 years experience with above specifications. Must Demonstrate good knowledge of Backup/Restore software including Tape management abilities. Demonstrate good knowledge of working on a Windows 2003 Server. Understanding of Programming concepts and networking experience a plus.

Position works three 12.5 hours/day a week. Shift and location schedule rotates monthly.

Overview:
Southwest Securities Information Systems department provides support for all computer systems as well as develops and deploys application software. They also provide services and support for our user community including external customers. The Computer Operator will learn Southwest Securities program applications and how our internal systems translate into our manual operations.
