About the Job
Description: Duties include, but are not limited to the following:
Provides secretarial support to Legal team in high risk, high volume atmosphere, including phone call management (answering and handling calls); Prepares and drafts correspondence, legal pleadings, and documents (including but not limited to notice of appearance, answers, motions, notices of hearing, and responses) from dictation and emails, organizes files, faxes and inputs information into COMPASS; Preparing check requests as directed; Maintains contact with clients, opposing counsel, court trustees and vendors; Responsible for opening, sorting, prioritizing and distributing faxes and mail daily (as applicable). Due to nature of the high risk cases, performer is responsible for ensuring that necessary steps are taken to protect our client’s interest.
Requirements/Preferences:
Education: Minimum High School diploma or equivalent; Secondary education or some college a plus. Legal Assistant certificate a plus.
Management Experience: None
Legal Experience: Minimum 1 year legal assistant experience or general knowledge of Florida Foreclosure/Bankruptcy proceedings.
Technology Experience: Strong PC Skills required including MSOffice (WORD & EXCEL). Typing speed of 60 wpm required. Knowledge of COMPASS and DOCMASTER and all client systems a plus.
Other: Able to handle High volume and multitask. Correct grammar usage, office machines (including Dictaphone) usage and previous customer service experience, and organizational skills required.
