write that u r applying for the job and tell them a little about your experience and work habits….
It’s partially for them to see a sample of your creative/business writing but think of it as an introduction to your resume. Your resume is a summary of your experience only. On your cover letter you can elaborate on your work history, talk about your work ethic etc.
