I have completed a Fundamentals of Engineering certificate (FE) and three years of experience in the same position with the tasks and responsibilities focusing on:

• Performs traffic engineering analysis required for timing traffic signals, traffic signal systems and ramp meters.
• Develops preliminary and final timing parameters for traffic signals and traffic signal systems statewide.
• Evaluates traffic signal operations problems that arise and proposes and implements design or construction modifications as needed.
• Provides temporary signal timing and traffic operations during the construction engineering project phase.
• Provides traffic signal operational support to the Region Traffic offices and highway engineering personnel engaged in preliminary design by reviewing operational phase diagrams, railroad preemption matrices and vehicle detector location layouts necessary to provide safe and efficient traffic signal operation. The work is of moderate complexity and requires operational analysis of intersection design, railroad interconnections, and other unique operation characteristics.
• Provides input to the Senior Traffic Engineer and the Transportation Operations Engineer for approval of operational elements of the plans.
• Assists regions in review and or perform traffic signal analysis in support of proposed developments.
• Responds to inquiries from ODOT regions, district offices, Transportation Planning, Traffic units, other agencies, the public, and consultants.
• Reviews and performs traffic operations analysis in support of the development of major highway projects.
• Participates in working groups with Traffic Signal Standards and Traffic Systems Services Unit, developing new or revised policies or guidance on matters relating to traffic signal timing and operation, new traffic signal control strategies or hardware.
• Assists other staff in providing support for other programs as assigned by the manager.

In addition to my extensive experience, I have posses and maintain a valid driver’s license. My broad background makes me an excellent candidate for Transportation Operations Specialist position.
